Privacy policy

Treksy collects only the information needed to coordinate trips and keeps optional location sharing under your control.

Information we process

Account information includes your name, sign-in identifier, optional profile details, and device notification token. Trip content includes destinations, itinerary items, bookings, links, attendance, and membership. If you explicitly start location sharing, we process your current coordinate and chosen expiry time. We do not keep location history.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate you, synchronize your trips, show shared content to authorized trip members, deliver requested notifications, prevent abuse, support account deletion, and operate the service. Treksy does not sell personal information or use trip content for advertising.

Temporary trip documents

Paid trips may store travel documents privately in Vercel Blob. New uploads are accepted until 30 days after the trip ends. Documents are permanently deleted on a fixed date 90 days after the trip ends. That deadline is stored when the trip completes so later date edits cannot extend storage indefinitely. Members receive deletion notices 30 days, 7 days, and 24 hours before expiry, and can download a zip of remaining files while they still have access. File names and contents are never included in notifications or logs.

AI processing

Optional trip-aware features send itinerary data you can already see in the trip — destinations, dates, itinerary items, and text you explicitly submit for extraction — to model providers through Vercel AI Gateway. Treksy does not log prompts. Confirmation numbers, documents, expenses, and health data are excluded from AI context.

Processors and storage

Clerk processes authentication, Neon hosts the application database, Vercel hosts the service, Vercel Blob hosts profile images and private trip documents, Vercel AI Gateway routes optional AI requests to model providers, and Apple delivers push notifications. These providers process information only to provide their services to Treksy.

Location choice and retention

Location sharing is optional and trip planning works without it. Coordinates are rounded before storage, are visible only to active members of the selected trip, expire at the time you choose, and are deleted immediately when you stop sharing or leave the trip. Expired records are excluded from every read even before cleanup runs.

Retention, deletion, and withdrawal

Trip content remains until its owner deletes the trip. Account data remains until you delete your account. Temporary documents follow the fixed vault deadline above. Operational security records are retained only as long as needed to protect the service. You may stop location sharing, disable notifications, leave a trip, or withdraw consent at any time. Account deletion is available in the app and permanently removes your account after ownership of shared trips is resolved.
